Blogger is one of my favorite websites powered
by Google. Through blogger I was able to create my personal blog with posts
edited and written by me. I enjoy writing my reviews about almost everything
from food to theater to lifestyle and entertainment. Blogger was my way to
share my experience with people I know in addition to people I don’t know. I’m
looking forward to being a food critic and I believe that blogger is my first
step.
I rated blogger 9 as there are some technical
problems especially when posting images or adding bullet points. During the
editing process things looks fine but once posted the images and bullet points
get shifted and it looks messy. However, the advantages are more than the
disadvantages. Blogger allows you to share Google maps and much more such as
videos and links. Not only that but you can add gadgets to your blog such a
watch, a calendar or the number of page reviews.
2. Google
Chrome
Rating 10/10
Ever since I have downloaded Google Chrome I
made it my default browser. It is very easy to navigate through and it has many
interesting features. With Google Chrome I was able to customize my background
and add my bookmarks under the searching tab. Not only that the most
interesting part was that I added all my everyday use Google tools on my home
page and I could refer to them at any time. I also bought many game from the
store and added them to my home page so that when I get bored working on my
projects I take time out and play some games. Google Chrome is really worth it
it’s fast, easy, simple and much secured.
3. Google Sites
Rating: 8.5/10
Google sites is also a very beneficial tool powered
by Google. With Google sites you don’t have to be an expert, you don’t need
programming or network database to create your own site. All you need is an
idea for your site. Google site is one of the easiest tools to help you create,
edit and publish your own site. I personally created my own site regarding
Google tools with ease and the interesting part is that Google site keeps
saving your work every minute so your work is never lost. And you can edit
everything live. In other words you type and post the images on the site page
and click save and whatever you do remain the same.
However, I rated the site 8.5 as it had the
same problem as blogger. The problem was with the images shifting and the
bullet points. Not only that but I kept facing a huge problem with creating
tables. The tables never remain in the middle as I specified they keep shifting
every time I visit the page. And that affected the images that I have posted on
the site. Eventually I had to take off all the tables.
4. Google Searching
Rating: 10\10
Google searching my default searching browser,
without it I don’t know how my life would be. Google Searching gets you the
information in no time. Not only that but with Google Searching features you
can limit your search to a specific topic. Google offers multiple feature
search as weather, health search, stocks and many more. Google Searching also
offer you the advanced search which for me was very beneficial as it saved me a
lot of time especially when I had project that are due within a couple of days
and a lot of research to be conducted. There are also many tips and tricks that
you can use during your search which also limit the search to you
specifications.
Google searching is not limited to searching
but with Google searching you can have some fun such as playing Google packman,
Google guitar or Google gravity and goggle loco. When you get the headaches
from searching information and work you can always take 5 minutes break with
Google something that I really find worth it.
5. Google Blog Search

Being an owner of my personal blog and a person
who enjoys reviewing food and other stuff I also like to read people reviews. I
also enjoy looking at how people organize there blogs and read what they have
posted. Google blog search made searching for blogs a very simple mission. With
Google blog search you can search for specific blogs by writing the name of
blog you are looking for or you can write the word that you want all the posts
that contain that word.
Although I find Google blog search beneficial I
believe it can be much better if Google added more features to it. Moreover I
rarely get all my Google blog searches correct. Like for example when I search
for food reviews blogs the results are not always specific and of use to me.
6. Google Calendar
Rating 10/10
Google calendar my life favorite. With Google
calendar I was able to synchronize my information from my mobile to my browser
and vice versa. Google calendar has spectacular features in which you can
create calendars and add events to them and you can color the calendars and
view them whenever you want. For example I created a calendar named Mr. Trdib
and within that calendar I added all of the submission dates. When I want to
view all the information about Mr. Trdib projects I click on his name and
nothing appear except for his events that I have marked. Not only that but with
Google calendar I can perform conference call and share calendars. I can also add
other people calendars and holiday calendars to mine. People can also make
appointments with me and it will appear on my calendar. With Google calendar I
never forget a birthday, a due date or an event.
7. Google Finance
Rating: 9.5\10
Google finance is another important searching
engine powered by Google. Imagine all the financial information, statistics,
charts and trends that you need are all in one place. Imagine you can create a
portfolio and add to it all the important businesses that you like to stay on
track with their update. Well Google finance allows all of that and more. With
Google finance your search is limited to all information about financial
information. For example if you searched for NASDAQ you will get billions of
links all related to NASDAQ financial news, updates and statistics. Google
finance home pages also show the top financial stories the updated currencies
information, bonds and sector trends.
8. Google News
Rating: 8\10
Google news is similar to Google finance but
with Google news you can specify the topics you want to read about. For example
Google news offers a set of topics and from them you can specify whether you
read about them rarely sometimes or never and thus Google news will display
more news about the topics you read always. Not only that but with Google news
all the headlines about one topic are under one name. for example if you were
looking for information about Wadeema’s story that happened in the UAE. With Google
news hundreds of headlines by hundreds of publishers will be under Wsdeema’s
case, Dubai. Once you click on that you can choose the publisher you prefer the
most who have posted an article about the topic. For example you can choose Al
Bayan, Al Kahleej or emirates today.
However, although Google news is very
interesting and you can get all top stories easily and read the news that you
have missed. Google news features are not many and are limited. I believe there
should be more to Google news as it is by all means a very interesting search
engine.
9. Gmail
Rating: 10/10
With Gmail exquisite features there is nothing
I can say except that you must make it your number 1 mail server. I used to use
many other email services but now that I have learned about Gmail, Gmail is my
main email server that I use during my everyday communications. Gmail has
multiple features and one of my most favorite is that I can give all my
potential employers this email address Hessa.sabt@gmail.com
and all my friends this email hessasabt@gmail.com
notice where I placed the dot in the first email. These are not two email
addresses it is one email address. The secret lies in the dot. Gmail does not
recognize dots but when I do put a dot and people email me writing the dot. The
emails that I receive will be filtered. For example all emails with a dot will
go to a folder called job interviews. And thus I will never miss an email from
an employer. Gmail also offer many other features like auto response and
filters.
10. Social bookmarking “delicious”
Rating: 9\10
Imagine you can keep all your favorite links
all in one place and share them with friends and family. Imagine you can search
for topics that are all tagged “romance”will with a social bookmarking you can
do so and more. My most favorite social bookmark is delicious. It is one of the
most easiest and simple websites for social bookmarking. You can add your
friends share with them and most importantly you can manage and organize all
the web links that you like in one place.
11. Google Reader
Rating: 9\10
Storing all the websites you like to read their
topics in one place and get to read what they have posted whenever you feel
like it. And staring the topics you find very interesting and share them with
your friends at a later time. Interesting idea, well Google reader has made the
idea a reality. With Google reader you can subscribe to your most favorite
websites and read the new topics that they have posted. You can also share the
topics with people who would find it interesting. Not only that but Google
reader also keep you updated with the topics that you have unread so you can
read them. All the topics that you have read will be marked as read so that you
won’t be confused.
12. Google Docs
Rating: 10/10
Google Docs is
your way to create documents, PowerPoint’s, drawings and forms online and share
them. Google doc is an easy way to create everyday essentials and edit them
with ease then share them with others. People you share with can also edit your
docs and send them back. They can also comment on them. Not only that but with
Google docs you can create online surveys and get the responses analyzed
immediately without having to make charts all by yourself.
13. Google Plus
Rating: 10/10
Google Plus is
one of my most favorite tools by Google. Its ease of use, easy to navigate
through and the many features in it makes it more astonishing. With Google Plus
I was able to create a circle and added all my friends and family members to
that circle and shared with them events, links and we had a video hangout.
Additionally, with Google Plus I was able to create my own page for movie and
food reviews something that I usually do but now I can let people visit my
page, read and leave comments.
There is
nothing about Google Plus that I disliked and therefore, I rated it as 10/10.
It has everything any individual is looking for from trending to hot and top
stories, creating pages, posting videos, live videos with people from all
around the world. If I can suggest one thing to my blog readers is that Google
Plus is a must and its worth the register.
14. Picasa Web Album
Rating: 6/10
Picasa web
album is a fair site to store your photos on. however, to be fair and square
the site lacked many features. although it is one of my favorite sites that I
personally use all the time to store my photos on. I still believe that the
site needs a lot on enhancement and features. for me i prefer simple sites.
sites that does not make me feel like I have just entered the world maze.. With
Picasa web album its simple its easy but its boring. Its powered by GOOGLE. and
when people hear GOOGLE they think big.. they think creativity. therefore
Picasa was not one of the best tools that I used so far. But I still like it
15. Google Maps
Rating: 10/10
This is my
babe. YUP my babe. I dont know what would i have done without Google Maps. its
creative. its easy to use and hell yah its very beneficial. OK sorry for the
language and style of writing but when I get excited about something I go
wohoow. And to be honest Google Map is something that I use daily and
frequently. Nothing to fancy but its a life saver. want to head back home and
lost your way? want to check out the traffic jam waiting for you? want to post
a bad review about a location you visited? think no more with Google Maps you
got it all in one place and for me this is just beyond fascinating.
Dont even dare
to ask why did I rate it 10/10!! use it and you understand this 10 you are
staring at. Google Maps is worth an 11 and more for its amazing technicality
and features. LOVE IT

Google offer
many tools not only the ones mentioned. I believe Google tools are very
beneficial and are created and designed to suit people with different goals and
preferences. Google finance is designed for those looking for financial
information without having to go through useless website. Gmail and Google
calendar are designed for people who like their lives to be organized and keep
track with events and never miss an important email. Google tools are all very
beneficial, some may lack features others are just over ratted. But after all
they all tend to serve an a use. Whether it is searching, creating blogs and
sites, keeping track with news and topics or marking events on a calendar
Google calendar has it all.
